I have been working on some bits and bobs lately and here is a wee peek at one of the images, I am looking forward to working on them some more and trying to be a bit more active in the whole art thing.

Life has been a bit tough with my fair share of ups and downs and my leg is still not fully healed. It has held me up in a lot of ways, but I am trying not to let it!

Raven

Recently I’ve been doing stuff for Samhuinn festival, which marks the end of summer and the beginning of winter, this is part of my design for a banner I painted which will I will post shortly!

Death of summer

Very quick drawing, Autumn seems the perfect time for bleak imagery, something I actually really enjoy doing, this was about summer the spirit of summer, some of it’s beauty retained in Autumn but eventually has to accept death. It is also the run up to Samhuinn festival so I think we all started getting tuned into the cycle of the seasons.

Adventures of Davis & Armstrong – St Andrews edition

I recently took a trip to St Andrews with my good friend Laura Davis doing some of that drawing goodness. There was  lots of fun things to see and do like fish shops, curiosity shops, ruins and ice cream. It was good to get out drawing again as it had been a while since I ventured out of the city let alone to draw. The weather was very windy and a little chilly, I still managed to get a big of sun burn though!

Here is a painting I did near the cathedral, it is ruined and it was fun chilling out by the grave stones doing this doodle, lying on the grass lazing while waiting for the paint to dry.

This lady looked like a tourist with her camera, she was wearing a very bright waterproof outfit and wearing a yellow canvas bag, I had to make a wee doodle of her.

This gentleman insect with a pocket watch and bird legs seems a bit blue, he has got his bowler hat on to protect himself from the rain. This was a spot of Laura Davis attacking my page with a bit of extra paint she had. I agreed to make it into something.

Laura enjoying her ice cream cone and holding mine whilst I take this lovely picture. I think my ice creams of choice where blueberry cheese cake and nutella. YES TOGETHER!

Overall it was a fun day out and felt productive! Thank You for stopping by!

Rocket

So it has been a while, but here is a wee painting I’ve been working on. I guess I’ve been feeling a bit stuck, hoping to continue being unstuck and start getting down to some art work. A Rocket? A Ray Gun? What more could you ask for? My original plan ages ago was to draw some kind of battles but I think I need to work out a few things first. I liked how she turned out. I tried to make her look quite slender and muscular but bulky from her armoured space suit instead of the 70s TV style tight body suit thing I often do.

In the rest of my life. I took part in another Beltane Fire Festival, over February and May doing drumming which was very busy, difficult (as I had never done any drumming before) and very very fun. Hoping to carry one doing some gigs for that. I am also still working at the pub and that is still good fun.

Thanks for stopping by!

Unsavoury Gentleman

Here is an image I drew recently of a rather creepy looking  man, he came about after I found a face in a sketchbook of another crinkly lipped creepy and I decided to try drawing a few more, this one was my favourite.

Punky lady

Here is a doodle I did a while ago which I’ve been meaning yo upload. I wanted to make a larger version and paint it but I struggled to recreate it so I decided to neaten up the original in good old photo shop. I am working on a wee bit of art lately and it’s going pretty well. Recently been working quite a lot and I’ve been very unwell but hoping to get past it soon!

Hello hello!

Hello everyone, I’ve been moving and applying for jobs and the like so I’ve been lacking in uploads. Hoping to get some photos of recent doodles up soon but I thought I’d link to this interesting note on Central Station about business cards, it also featured a picture of my business card with my librarian image so I was really pleased to be featured!
